There is nothing more constant in expat life than change. And there is nothing more certain right now, than we are living through a period of uncertainty. Now that is a tongue twister!?!
So if everything is changing, and everything is so uncertain do we just give up and wait to see what happens? Is this a time to sit back and let life just happen to us?
I think you know the answer I’m looking for. It’s a big, fat NO!
We take control. We focus on the things we can impact on. We gain strength and energy from creating a positive atmosphere for ourselves and our family.
Yeah right! I hear you. I’m too busy. I am just trying to get through each day and stay sane. I’m already exhausted just meeting my child’s emotional needs. Everyday I’m being pulled in every direction. I can’t do this too.
And that’s where I’m here for you, right now. You can take control of your life, right now. You can focus on the right things, the things that you can change. You can create the positive environment that will give you more strength and more energy. YOU CAN.
Let me be honest though, it’s not rocket science, but while it’s simple, it’s not easy either.
Those who have followed my posts for a while know that I work with The Circle of Influence and The Circle of Concern.
Yes, this is how I navigate my own life everyday. For example, I can’t change the fact my dad has Stage 4 cancer. But I can show up every day on FaceTime and I can talk to him sometimes only for 5 minutes, sometimes for nearly an hour. I can chat with him about what’s happening in my life, what’s happening around the world, how he’s feeling and how is mum coping. I can do that, and support him more effectively perhaps than if I was there with him.
A tool from the 7 habits of highly effective people, you may be already aware that most things that happen in your life, fall into one of two areas:
- Circle of Concern – things we care about, or affect us, but we have no control over; or
- Circle of Influence – things we can control and influence.
If you are always focusing on your circle of concern, you are being reactive in your life and decreasing the size of your circle of influence. It is more positive and proactive to focus on your circle of influence.
Take a moment now, think about your worries, your fears, your concerns. Which circle are they in? What can you do within your Circle of Influence? How can you become more positive and more proactive?
As I mentioned earlier, it sounds simple, but it’s not easy. However, there is no denying how important all of this is. That’s why I’ve put together the “4 Steps to Regain Calm and Control During Times of Uncertainty”.
This is a new workshop designed especially for these times, and is made up of 4 pre recorded video sessions, and a one on one coaching session to ensure you are focusing on the right areas for you and your family.
In addition, you will receive a workbook to support you through each step. And, two weeks of direct access to me via WhatsApp for support and questions.
As a result, you will have a customised action plan that is unique to you and your family. You will know the exact steps you need to take to manage through this uncertain time, and be clear about the actions you will take.
If you were to work through each of these key areas with me in one on one coaching sessions, the full price value of this workshop would be NZ$600.
The time for you to reclaim your life is right now! With this package, for just NZ$149 (or US$90) you get:
